]]>Developed as a unique fan engagement element, “The Crew Challenge Members Race” is the latest addition to Keselowski’s award-winning website, BradRacing.com. This new fan-focused component also involves Keselowski’s championship-contending NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team, Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR).
Starting with this Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway, and for each of the remaining NCWTS races in 2014, two active participants in “The Crew Challenge” will have their names drawn at random to participate in “The Crew Challenge Members Race.”
The Twitter handle for one of these two fans will appear on the No. 19 BKR Reese Towpower/Draw-Tite/Broken Bow Records Ford F-150 and the Twitter handle for the other fan will appear on the No. 29 BKR Cooper Standard Ford F-150 for that particular race. BKR will announce the lucky winners on the Thursday before each NCWTS race via the official @TeamBKR Twitter handle.
The fans’ Twitter handles will be featured on the B-post of the BKR Ford F-150s as part of a special decal. Then the race is on! Whichever BKR Ford F-150 finishes in front of the other, regardless of position, the fan whose Twitter handle appears on that particular BKR entry will receive a special prize package from Keselowski and BKR.
Launched in 2013 and growing in active users, “The Crew Challenge presented by Ford Racing” provides fans with a platform to help tell Keselowski’s story over the course of the NASCAR season, and, in the process, earn valuable prizes. Fans submit written, photographic, and/or video content that highlights their experience and perspective with Keselowski and the sport as a whole.
“‘The Crew Challenge Members Race’ is an extension of what we have already started, and a way to bring several of my passion points – from social media and my Truck team to the fans – together in a fun way,” said Keselowski. “The most important piece of this is the fans. We are fortunate to have the most loyal fans in sports, and any time we can do something special like this that highlights them in an active and visible way, I think is terrific. I am anxious to find out who will be riding with me for Friday night’s Truck race in Charlotte.”
The winners for the NCWTS race at Charlotte Motor Speedway will be announced on Wednesday May 14th via @TeamBKR. Please visit BradRacing.com/CrewChallenge for your chance to be featured on the race track this season with BKR drivers Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano and Tyler Reddick.

]]>Showing my support as a Brad Keselowski fan by collecting anything with his name on it is something I have always enjoyed doing. From trading cards, to diecast, hero cards, and more, if it’s BK, I’ll collect it.
Shown below are images of just a few of the new pieces I’ve been able to add since the checkered flag flew at Homestead.
1/24 diecast:
2008 NAVY Salute the Troops
2012 Miller Lite Bristol Raced Win
2012 Miller Lite Retro
2013 Miller Lite NASCAR Unites
2013 Miller Lite/Luke Bryan
2013 Discount Tire
2013 Draw-Tite (thanks to BradRacing.com!)1/24 diecast:
2012 Miller Lite Retro
2012 Discount Tire
2013 Blue Deuce (kids)
2013 Miller Lite
2013 Miller Lite/Luke Bryan
2013 Miller Lite NASCAR Unites
2013 Discount Tire
And then I have the obligatory trading cards. Instead of filling a post with them, I chose to put up just a few of my better pieces, including 2 1/1 cards.
The last photo is a really cool piece with a nice story behind it. I believe it was before Christmas, Kansas Speedway was hosting a giveaway through their Instagram page, and when I saw what the prize was, I had to enter. Sadly, I did not win. But…a friend of mine did win. We were able to work out a trade, and now I have one of my favorite pieces. A hat worn in Victory Lane from the 2011 STP 400 at Kansas Speedway, signed by Brad Keselowski (top of hat), race engineer Brian Wilson (left side of brim), crew chief Paul Wolfe (center of the brim), and team owner Roger Penske (right side of brim).
Thanks for looking, and I hope to have more nice stuff to show at a later date.

]]>Since Brad is my favorite driver (since 08 Nationwide series), it got me all excited and amped up to get there. The night before, I could hardly sleep. I was so excited to meet Brad for the first time (first NASCAR driver i have met). When I got picked up for the ride to the show, it was hard to stay calm. When we got there and I saw the Blue Deuce sitting by where all the seats were for the autograph session it sank in that i was finally going to me my favorite driver.
It was about 1 pm and the autograph session wasn’t scheduled till 3:30 pm, so me and my friend walked around. At around 3, we got in the seats so we could be in line to meet Brad. I was so excited. I brought two of my favorite die-cast cars in my collection for him to sign. One was his 2013 standard Cup scheme and the other was a 2010 CFS Nationwide car of his. Then 3:30 came and went and still no sign of Brad. (I started to think something came up and it was too good to be true.) Then an announcer came on the stage, and said he ran into traffic and was on his way. (Typical Philly traffic.)
At around 4, he finally arrived. I was so in shock that I was gonna meet him. As we waited in line, my friend started joking saying that if I passed out from the excitement, she would take pictures of me passed out. (Evil.)
As we got up on the stage, die-cast in one hand, I gave him the car for him to sign and shook his hand. I said I was a huge fan and supported him since 2008. He replied thank you and that he was glad to have a dedicated fan like me. Trying not to freak out, I thanked him. As I walked away, I silently celebrated getting to meet my favorite driver. He was a very down-to-earth guy and really cool. The day went on, and I added two new cars to my collection.
It was a great day, and I was so glad I went. I got to meet my favorite driver, spend time with my best friend and added new cars to my die-cast collection!

]]>Year by year, America’s top sanctioning body has worked on improving the showroom appearance of all of their vehicles.
Starting with the Nationwide Series cars in the summer of 2010, NASCAR has slowly been achieving its goal. Replacing the aero-designed and fully tubed shaped racecars with zero identification to their dealership counterparts was quite a challenge. One by one, they became unveiled. Chevrolet’s Impala, Toyota’s Camry, Ford’s Mustang, and my favorite of them, Dodge’s Challenger. These racecars were fast, and they looked like street cars. Is there a better feeling as a race fan than knowing you can get a street car that looks just like what your hero drives at the race track? I think not!
NASCAR took their second big step in early 2012, when the first of the Generation 6 ‘Gen 6’ Sprint Cup machines were shown to the public. And across the racing world, jaws were dropped. They had met the same criteria as the Nationwide Series bodies by mimicking the street cars, and like the Nationwide cars, they were fast. Too fast, actually. The first shakedown for the new style racecars came in 2012 when NASCAR realized that these cars were going far too fast. A few engine and aero modifications later: Here we are with the Gen 6 car we are all familiar with.
So at this point, by the end of the 2013 season, we have stock looking Sprint Cup and Nationwide cars. Good, right? Not a chance. We’re still missing one — the Camping World Trucks.
Over the last few seasons, the Camping World Trucks have put on some of the most incredible racing out of all the series, but the problem matched the first two: there was no brand identity. After working on the top two national touring series, it was time for the Truck Series overhaul. And overhauled they were. Their first test came at Daytona, where they scored an A+. The trucks looked fantastic, and to my surprise, they were blistering fast, completely obliterating the previous record at the 2.5 mile speedway.
The entire process was five years in the making, but in the end, was it worth the time? Absolutely, it was.

]]>The multimedia platform gives fans the chance to tell Keselowski’s story and their own experiences with the sport from any perspective or location, and in the process, earn valuable prizes. Fans can participate on a weekly basis throughout the season, with this year’s contest getting underway today with the green flag for the duel races at Daytona International Speedway.
“Brad has proven to be on the leading edge of digital and social media.”
— Tim Duerr, Marketing Manager, Ford Racing
In ‘The Crew Challenge presented by Ford Racing’, fans are encouraged to participate in the storytelling of the racing season, submitting substantive stories, pictures and videos to the website. Fans earn points based on the quality of their entries. Points can be earned, for example, if Keselowski personally re-tweets a submission to his more than 450,000 followers. Earned points can be cashed-in for prizes of varying value and simultaneously, a leaderboard displays the cumulative point totals earned by each fan with season-ending prizes for those earning the most points.
This weekend at the Daytona 500, Keselowski is hosting the 2013 ‘Crew Challenge’ grand prize winner, Abbie Smith. Smith will accompany Keselowski as his personal guest for the weekend courtesy of an all-expenses-paid trip.
“Brad has proven to be on the leading edge of digital and social media,” said Tim Duerr, Marketing Manager for Ford Racing. “We see ‘The Crew Challenge presented by Ford Racing’ as a new and exciting way to engage with Brad’s huge fanbase and in the process reward them for their passion for NASCAR racing.
One of the areas in which Ford Racing’s presence will be most appreciated by the fans is in the prizes. Thanks to Ford Racing fans can earn VIP behind-the-scenes access to race events including credentials and suite passes, as well as numerous other prizes from the manufacturer. New prizes will be added throughout the season from Ford, as well as from the partners of Team Penske and Brad Keselowski Racing.
“It’s great to have Ford Racing on-board as the presenting sponsor for ‘The Crew Challenge,” said Keselowski. “We are continually striving to provide fans with new, better, and different ways to experience the races and engage with the sport, while at the same time strengthen our relationships with our key partners, such as Ford Racing, by providing them with new ideas and value. I think we have achieved both here.”

]]>If you’re a returning participant, welcome back. We really appreciate everything you did in 2013 to make the inaugural Challenge such a success, and are eager to have you continue contributing quality content in 2014.
If you’ve never been here before, we are happy to have you, and just as eager to have you join us for the 2014 season.
In the interest of making the Challenge even more fun, we’ve balanced out the point system to make it much easier to win prizes.
So let’s get onto some of the great changes we’ve made for the coming year.
First off, we’re welcoming Ford Racing to the Crew Challenge as the official sponsor. Having Ford Racing aboard is a great validation of the work that went into 2013 by everyone on BradRacing.com — not just by our team here, but by our amazing user base as well. The extra attention promises a lot more participation in the coming year. Ford’s participation also means that we’ve added more than a dozen great prizes to the Prize Center straight out of the official Ford Racing collection. Check them out.
In the interest of making the Challenge even more fun, we’ve balanced out the point system to make it much easier to win prizes. Great prizes take fewer points to purchase, and accepted submissions are worth more. Every time you get a post accepted into the Crew Challenge, you’ll get 50 points, and bonuses for emotion, creativity and quality can each be worth as much as 100 points each.
One of the most exciting changes we’ve made for 2014 is that we’ve integrated Twitter into the Crew Challenge in a very cool way. If you link your Twitter account to your BradRacing.com account (and you’ve really got to do it), you can earn points simply by allowing tweets about your accepted submissions to be posted automatically to your Twitter account. Every time that happens, you’ll earn 25 points. And if Brad retweets the tweet about your post, you’ll get 100 points. Yes, you read that right.
And finally, starting in the next few weeks, we’ll be bringing back weekly challenges, which were a huge hit in 2013. The big difference in 2014 is that the weekly winner will get more than just points for winning. He or she will also receive a prize. More on this to come.
Start your engines! Let the 2014 Crew Challenge begin!

]]>Brad’s “White Deuce” will be starting off the season with an interesting look — hopefully a good luck charm, unlike last year’s first couple of races. Finishing the Sprint Unlimited second behind the leader, Denny Hamlin, Brad led eight laps and survived the crashes that took place during the race. This was Brad’s second top 10 in the Sprint Unlimited, and he was very close for the win.
With a fast car, Brad qualified 6th with a time of 46.084 and a speed of 195.296, which is phenomenal for that No. 2 team.
Who thinks Brad is going to win the Daytona 500 this year, beginning the 2014 season with a bang?
As the statistics show, Brad finished in the top 5 at last year’s Daytona 500, so let’s all pray for that fantastic win this 2014 season!
